Lucy Amarillo Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) Adult Female for sale in Arvada, Colorado

Lucy Amarillo's story
My name is Lucy.  Nobody is quite sure how long I was a stray, but they do think that for awhile I lived with at least one boy dog in a kennel.  Now how on earth do they know that?  Well, when I need to pee, I squat down like every little girl does - but I lift one back leg up every time.  When my foster mom sees that she always laughs at me!  When I got here to my foster mom and dad I was pretty closed down.  It took over a week for me to look at them.  Now I'm learning that people are ok, and nobody is going to hurt me.  I'm ok with other dogs - right now I have another chihuahua-terrier cross foster brother, a border collie foster brother, and a dachshund cross foster sister, and we all just fit right in.  I would not recommend Lucy if you have small children, as she tends to be a little unsure of loud noises and quick movements.  Her ears are so expressive - she communicates volumes about her thoughts and feelings just by the height and angle of her ears.  When you add in those big liquid brown eyes, she is a heart throb!   Lucy wasn't really comfortable sitting on the bench for these photos, but she will get used to cameras, lol.  Because Lucy is heartworm positive she is not supposed to do things that really tire her out until her treatment is done, so their days are spent snoozing, moving around to see what is going on in another room, and snoozing some more, haha.  Lucy is learning how to walk on a leash, but every once in awhile she forgets and tries to wrap us up in her leash.  When Lucy gets excited, like right before we open the door for them to go outdoors, she does a little tap dance at the door.  Would you like to come dance with Lucy?  You can help her learn about toys, and what it means to have a forever family, and you can give her belly rubs all day long.  Put in an application today and lets talk about LUCY!
She is heartworm positive BUT don't let that stop you from being interested in this girl as your forever girl.  EAPL will cover all the vet care for her heartworm treatment. You just need to provide the TLC for just 60 +/- days and then she will be on her way to being a normal Colorado active dog! Once the heartworms are cleared then she is good to go and can be spayed (her adoption fee includes her spay at our assigned vet.)  Put in an application and one of our volunteers can talk to you about heartworm and the process.
